Honestly, drilling bolts in situ is tough if not borderline impossible.
Sawing off extra length is easy.


My opinion on the core being stronger is because it seems bolts are tough to drill. I might be wrong.

But you're damn right, at the end of the day, it sounds quite useless (an empty washing screen tank is much easier ...)
