Wow! I Just read through the whole thread. Nice work! People look at the stuff we pull off and think it's amazing. But really I'm spoiled. We have the tools/equipment/experience to fabricate just about anything. There is a lot to be said for having the "means" to pull stuff off. I read through your thread and all I could think was "Man, that's a LOT of work!". It's impressive what you pulled off considering what you have to work with and the budget you worked within. There is something to be said for "budget". I come up with product designs all the time that simply can't be made at a cost that it can be sold for. Coming up with ideas is not so hard. Realizing ideas is the first hard step. Then figuring out how to do it without breaking the bank is the real trick.
