It's not magic although I think you know that.

1-It can't beat me, no matter what I can fix it. It's a matter of how long and how much after your confidence in your abilities is absolute.

2-How can I properly diagnose the real problem with the least expense to me with a level of certainty, that means I'm willing to give away my time if I am wrong.

The point of the original post title was that the essentail component is proper diagnosis and the ability to cover the "what if that ain't it" scenario and further diagnosis, quickly and cost effectively, to insure you are right the first time, or your first attempt is a freebie.
