How many people would even think to look at the front pully of an engine when diagnosing a clutch that would not disengage properly. All the pressure on the pressure plate fingers is also pushing the crankshaft toward the front of the engine,which is why thrust bearings are essential on a manual transmission, not nearly so much on an auto.
