Prius boring to drive? I must be doing something wrong, I enjoy is almost as much as the '04 GTO I had (Prius can't compete with that V8 roar and power). Can't hypermile it? I guess it must be luck that's getting me to average more in my Gen2 Prius than most people get in their Gen3s (which should get a good 3-5MPG more).

No, the Prius isn't Jesus on wheels. Its just a car that gets good mileage even if you're not really trying.

Regarding the original question, what other options do you have in your area? $3k isn't bad, but it still has a lot of miles on the car. You might be better off spending $4k or $5k for a car with lower miles.
