You could tap into one of the other lights near the backup light, such as a parking light. Then the camera would be powered any time you turn the lights on to the first click.

Running the lights would probably negate the fuel savings from eliminating the mirrors, but if you don't need the camera on all the time, then you wouldn't waste too much. You could also replace the corner lights with LEDs, which would consume very little power.
