I've been driving the Metro around a bit over the weekend. I'm definitely still getting settled in with the car. I find it hilarious as I accelerate up a hill while still getting 44 mpg on the instant display! I'd only get that in the Sunfire while coasting at a moderate speed. It also slows down in a coast a lot faster than other cars I've driven. Around town, without any EOC, I'm getting in the low 50s so far. I have very short trips mostly (5-7 miles at most), so warm up mods are planned (block heater, grill block).
I've also slowly been going through the car trying to eliminate rattles and knocks and stuff.
I gave it the seafoam treatment (some in the gas, oil, and intake) this weekend too. As I finish out the tank of gas from the previous owner, I'll let that run through. Once thats done I'll fill up and change the oil. Seems these are pretty carbony engines and semi-frequent cleaning is a good thing for them.
Also on the short list of things to do is add a kill switch. That'll probably be the first mod actually.
