I am an electronics guy and vacuum gauges are hard to find where i live, I have a voltmeter i managed to connect a voltmeter to MAP sensor which measures pressure.
Can i use this as an experiment too monitor engine load (pressure is proportional to vacuum) and thats what vacuum gauges do, if i keep an eye on MAP voltage on the fly would it help me to drive engine at minimum load and in that way i could get fuel savings without spending NOTHING at all. Is it a viable IDEA ? if it works i could buy a bluetooth voltmeter and write an application on my mobile phone which has a gps to at least calculate instant load vs speed which i thing would directly relate to MPG. Please give your valuable feedback if i should take this path as this could lead to a very very economical solution to boost mpg, I THINK imho but what do u think??
