I think that guideline has been busted. There are more than a few production cars out there with efficiency-minded air dams that hang much lower than the lowest underbody components. See the Chevrolet Volt for example.

Another EG: I put a fairly deep airdam on a 2014 Mitsu Mirage and saw a ~4% improvement at just @ 90 km/h / 56 mph. http://ecomodder.com/forum/showthrea...ini-29182.html


Great post! Thanks, I do have plans to extend the air dam significantly but I cant decide how I want it done yet
