Maybe this is a bit off topic, and admittedly I am new here(first post...
). But after a bunch of lurking and reading; I was thinking...this project is simply amazing(duh), and maybe it has been brought up before, but I have a couple ideas.
First, I am sure someone out there could write an Android app for this...it could be very handy if part two is possible; integration with the vehicles OBDII computer. It could be possible to use one of the wireless OBDII "interfaces" already on the market (elm327) to then get access to the controller from the Android Device. I am assuming(and possibly showing my ignorance) that the vehicle's stock ECM is kept in place...especially for cars with PATS or something similar that requires the ecm to run in addition to all the 12v electronics in modern cars.
Just a few random thoughts I had...back to page...whatever it was... I think reading the whole thread will be a great primer for my own knowledge and skill level.
