I use this site to tack MPG and an Excel file to track how much the car has cost me since I bought it. Using "sheets" I'm able to access it via my Google Drive on my iphone so I can update on the go if I wish. Usually I just write on my receipt my trip (for ecomodder) and total miles (for Excel file) and enter later. In Excel I just have date - miles - cost - notes columns, and in the notes I write what I bought (gas, oil, tires etc.). Off the right it calculates how long I've owned the car, how many miles driven and total spent on car. Using those things, it calculates cost/mile and cost/day.
