The 316i was an enjoyable read. Minds me of a trip a fellow forumer from Norway did... all the way to the top of Europe in an old Corolla (the last of the rear-drive ones). It broke down halfway there, so they found another one for sale, bought it on the spot, and continued the trip the next day.

XJ40 would be the first with the V8? Nice motor those. Not terribly economical, though...
