Injector Volume (and Possible Swap?)

Hello EcoModders,
First of all, I'd like to introduce myself to the Forum.
My name is Josh. I currently live in Jupiter, FL (located about 45min from West Palm Beach).

I'm a new owner of a passed-down '05 Civic LX 4d. Great car, no complaints so far.

So enough with the formalities

I was wondering if it were possible to replace the stock injectors with a slightly smaller volume injector from a different Honda.

I spent quite a while searching the internet for the stock injector volume for a D17a1 motor, but couldn't find it.

Currently, I am merely entertaining the idea. I have easy access to wrecked cars, so finding replacement injectors shouldn't be much of a problem.

The only limiting circumstance (that I can think of) is that the ECU would sense a lack of fuel, so it would just force the new injectors to pump the same amount of fuel anyways.

If so, would an ECU swap be the only way to solve this problem?

I also understand the danger that the engine might "lean out" because of a lack of fuel.

I do not, and will not, drive my car like a Go-Kart, so I am not worried about that.

The hardest driving I plan on doing with my vehicle is 200miles up and down from school about 5-10 times a year.

Has anyone done anything similar? Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you in advance,
Josh
