Your scangauge may not show boost but it can tell you what's happening with MAP - manifold pressure. Check it when the engine is off to find what ambient pressure is. 14.5 psi or so is what I see. In a Normally Aspirated car like mine, that ambient pressure is the highest you can get at wide open throttle. If your turbo is boosting, you'll see pressure above ambient on this gauge. 7 psi boost = 21.x psi MAP.
