Here they close down all the neighborhood schools and build new Taj Mahals a little past the outskirts of town. Then almost nobody walks or bikes to school. Traffic jams of parent chauffeurs ensue but on top of that, busing costs skyrocket- oh well, who cares, it's only the taxpayer's money and besides
it's for the children. Then somebody realized the fat little *******s weren't getting any exercise so now there are million dollar govt grants to develop walk and bike paths to the now far-away schools... far away, that is, until the new housing developments sprawl out around them (and the towns get empty at their cores).
You simply can't make this stuff up.
