Arco stations vary in how they charge for the use of credit or debit. The station closest to me is generally very close, or the same price as Costco and doesn't charge a fee for Credit. This means I can beat Costco prices since I earn 2.1% back on my credit card.

I'll also point out that both Costco and Arco are now Top Tier qualified fuels.

As to the question about clicking off, I'd lean towards that being a coincidence. I'd just fill the tank to full and not set a dollar limit though. How else are you going to calculate fuel economy?
