I asked if I could just duct tape the rust he said no, the safety aspect is that kids could cut themselves on the rust, and they could also remove the tape to reach the rust.
I will do a quickie bondo repair job so He can't cut his fingers, then do a better job later.
He also found screw heads on the grill block that I left installed ... he says they are dangerous as well, but he will overlook them.
Way back in the mid 70's I believe they stopped having an annual vehicle inspection, worst plan ever, and I am sure that the rate of accidents went way up due to it.
The rear main seal is being done today or tomorrow.
They told me that I can't drive the car after it has failed the inspection .. they can't stop me from driving it but if I get caught there is a $1500 fine.
They will drive it to my place with repair plates on it so I can repair the rusty quarters, then they will bring the repair plates and retest the car.
Hopefully I will be on the road again this weekend.
