You can't just duct tape it, that'd be silly: only Bondo counts as a real body repair, everybody knows that.
Use duct tape to provide the structure covering the hole and Bondo over that. Then the world can feel comfortable because it sees Bondo and you didn't have to trowel a couple pounds of it on until it completely filled up your wheel well.
