Aside from the repairs that need to be done to the vehicle, I think this would be a great time to talk to the inspectors about aeromods. Maybe they would work with you on what they would accept as legal. Then if you were pulled over specifically because the modded car looked unsafe to an officer you would be able to show him an official state inspection saying the mods were legal. I would think that some of the modifications would need to be semi-permanent. I would guess you would likely need a separate inspection for the mods but that would be fine. This way you could explain the reasoning behind the modifications. Anyway, you have to get the inspection done, might as well make the best of it.
