There seems to be a nest of neato Eco cars I've stumbled on at the auction today. There was a Ford Escort ZX2 with low miles, but 1. It was raining by then, and 2. It was an automatic, so I didn't bother with pics. But these were kinda cool:

1996 Civic CX, 5 speed, 229k KMs (142k miles). The other side is banged up on the 1/4 panel, but no rust.

2000 (I think?) Civic CX, 5 speed, 197k KMs (122k miles). This thing is cleeeeeean!

Some weird Toyota with a battery in the trunk. Must be a race car?? Haha, 2005 Prius with 146k KMs (90k miles). Unlike the one last week, this one is actually really nice.

Since I started posting pics in this thread, there have only been a few cars I got really excited about. I saw one of them today. My friend was looking at a 2014 Mercedes SL63 to buy tomorrow, and I was looking at this, and I guarantee you I thought my choice was the better of the two. His words, not mine "I'm looking at a $100k+ car, and you are all giddy over that thing and the pair of shoes in the trunk. You scare me sometimes!" Ya ya, well I can't help it if I have better taste in cars than he does! Ladies and gents, I give you a 1985 Accord, 5 speed, with 175k KMs (108k miles). Rust free.

Like most people, I used to have one of these (or you probably know someone that did). Amazing cars IMO. It's unreserved tomorrow, so I'll probably be fighting the scrap guy for it. Even the mismatch wheels are cool, when was the last time you saw mismatched wheels off an old CRX on the front of a 30 year old Accord?? I must have driven this thing around for 20 minutes in the auction yard today. I'd be pretty surprised if I don't end up owning it tomorrow for scrap value, and can you blame me?
