A buddy of mine drove me to Columbus OH in his 200? Pontiac ? V6 and stayed at or 5 mph above the speed limit....lots of interstate...I was suprised, as was he that he got 32.5 mpg on his first 100 mile plus trip. We got the Geo...seemed to idle rough, but it was really smooth once moving. He told me there was no smoke or visable troubles. I was planning on staying at 55-60 since the car was unfmiliar to me and with 152000+ miles I was a bit worried. Once on I-270 I just started cruising at 65-70 since I heard no noises coming from the motor. We held that pace for about 60 miles...against a decent breeze...then the remainder of the 195 mile trip was done mostly at 60-63 mph. Got here and it used no oil and with no mods and how I will normally drive this thing it got 46 mpg...I would have been barely okay with 44, happy with 45 but darn happy with 46. Both of us were SHOCKED that his V6 got 38! I told him that the slower speeds on by-ways with very few redlights and his slight slip streaming of me got that.
