I've owned this car for the better part of 9 years now and attributed the last 110k miles of the total 249,863 miles currently on the car. At 180k I finally replaced the timing belt and water pump. It does also has a new distributor. The only after market parts are the short shifter, new vx transmission (3000 miles), and aftermarket suspension (.75" lower than stock). The car does burn oil (never replaced the gaskets) and the radiator has developed a slight leak. Since I bought the car it has had 3 vx wheels and 1 silver 13" spare (tires are 90% tread, no dry rot).
All in all I wouldn't hesitate to head down the interstate with spare fluids in tow. I've seen low 50 mpgs on the highway.
