Getting it smog legal shouldn't be a problem AFAIK. Granted, it's not as easy as a gas to diesel swap, since the ref actually has to smog it
, but it ain't rocket surgery either. I mean, aside from the ECU, what emissions specific stuff was different? Keeping in mind of course it doesn't have to be CA spec, just Fed spec w/ over ~12k miles IIRC.
