Back when I had a turbo the silver paint, right lane and no lights unless necessary were part of an overall plan: low-observable and nondescript give you a half a smidgen more time to spot the traffic cop and/or hide in the crowd. Besides, not many people came up behind me- and if you were in front of me, I was reacting to you.

And because those interesting drivers are still out there, I didn't expect them to use their mirrors no matter what I looked like.
