How about the contents of the car?
Any chance they are going to cough up for a laptop?
Checked my insurance companies fine print and they cover up to $500 worth of vehicle content.
Actually my insurance company probably wouldn't cover the laptop in your situation as you had removed it from the car just prior to having it stolen.
Unless you forgot to mention that detail to them.
