Good luck on your job interview. Pop retired from the US civil service in 1975, been drawing that retirement for 40 years this year. Job security and benefits are rare in today's job market.

When he retired, his total contributions were $22,500, he paid in 7% after taxes. when he had 4 young sons and $5 left over in his weekly budget. Friday, when he turns 94, his retirement is more per hour by several times what he made working and he did not have to pay into social security.

He will be 32 years older than his father was when he passed at 62.

edit to correct Pop's time since retirement from 50 to 40 years.

regards
