EVTV have been talking about what it takes for a fast-charging station; it's either a massive mains line or a local battery pack with a high-current line to the vehicle being charged. The house and the car have a similar power requirement. Doubling the size of the house battery would accommodate the house's use requirement plus be able to quick-charge one or more vehicles.
