Yeah, and hereabouts we had maybe 15-20% of an average year's snowpack in the mountains, nothing that stuck more than a day or so at my 4800 ft elevation. Same is true for a lot of the world: it's just that the US East Coast gets the benefit of a weather pattern that sends Arctic air over them.
And why people complain about having a decent winter for a change is something I'll never understand. If you don't like winter, move to Florida, Alabama, Mississippi, Louisiana, or the southern part of Texas, then you can have fun b**ching about humidity, mosquitos, and alligators :-)
