Very true, no one driving a porsche cayenne hybrid is doing so to save on fuel at the pump, its giving the upper class the sense of environmental wellness.
There seem to be a lot less hybrids made these days, our local honda dealer said they haven't even sold a single '15 accord hybrid yet despite very strong sales this year so this just reinforces that people don't seem think of the environment unless fuel is expensive. The cost of gas seems to reinforce how hazardous to the environment many of these cars can be. Ironically, people drive far more when gas is inexpensive so this just makes the problem even worse.
