Actually, grasslands hold more carbon that forests - they are ~80% roots, and roots are very close together. Large grazing herds that migrate help grasslands become huge carbon sinks.

Also, biochar is great for many reasons: carbon sink, huge nutrient and water sponge capacity, and the soil is much more fertile, so plants grow a lot better.
