The vx had harsh transitions from lean burn to normal to 16v. The hesitation is common at 2k rpms from what I've seeN on honda tech.

The gas gauges on Hondas are not very accurate, turn left and the gas gauge goes down, turn right and the needle goes up.

Assuming your car is up to date on maintenance and has clean egr passages and idles fine you should be getting consistent tanks of gas. I prefer a vacuum gauge to accurately tell me *remind me* how much throttle I'm using. You would be suprised how much difference a centimeter of pedal pressure hurts or helps your gas mileage.

So since I don't know your cars history I'll remind the tune up
ngk plugs
ngk wires
clean egr and idle air control valve
fuel filter

I would also suggest marvel mystery oil into the gas tank. $5.99 at any parts store for a 32oz jug
