Money in my pocket. Buyer is moving here from Puerto Rico with his wife and 3 kids. Very nice looking couple. She had a baby at 15, now he is in IT and she works in a beauty parlor. Living at her sisters house, makes me feel like a priviledged one with my background.
For them it's the perfect car.
It's an example of what you can do with a car few ecomodders here would consider. A nice 2dr manual would be capable of 45+ in good hands, a lot more for a hard core driver.
A $300 car I put about that in cash in it over 6 months, basically a wash with my hands and brain supplying the equity. Easily within the capabilities of any person who has the drive and perseverance.
The Mirage will cost me more, taxes $167more, insurance $180 more, gas about 1/3rd less. I'll never recover the extra cost in any reasonable amount of time, especially considering what I got OUT of the Sentra when I sold it.
Bottom line is you have to choose the right car, if you like Honda's you need to learn to do the valve adjustments and timing belts yourself. If that ain't you consider a car that does not have those expensive maintenance items.
