I would avoid the remap - it killed my clutch (VRS 6 Speed) although you have a new one courtesy of your broken gearbox Also it costs the same as at least 3 tanks.
It's a toughy, because while I'm happy the clutch will survive (I'm unlikely to be doing any hard launches...) I worry that my turbo will the next thing to pop!

I found no difference on additives with my PD130 but my driving is mainly town only so that might have made a difference.I blocked the upper grill with one from Superskoda (after trying tape / plastic) and the lower one - fast warmups definitely.

One other mod is ventectomy - block the vent which makes filling up a pain. Some claim it means you will over fill and spill Diesel but it never happened for me, the paintwork was always clean afterwards.
I'm confident the additives are making a difference to the supermarket diesel I use. But compared to something like Shell super diesel it won't make any difference, but it is much more cost effective.

I'm running a correx and cable tie block that sits behind the grill. I've seen the SuperSkoda grill (it's pretty swish!) but didn't seem worth the money when all I've got is a beat-up old non-VRS!

Yeah I've heard about the vent but it doesn't seem to be holding any pressure on mine. Only a certain supermarket's pumps seem to have an issue filling up correctly.

One thing I did spend a few hours doing today, was trying to find some decent, aero-ish lightweight wheels. 5x100 14" Aluminium but looks-like-steelies would be ideal. Sadly, don't seem to be able to find them...
