You might as well go with 2012 since they did a mid-model refresh that year. Options such as Bluetooth were added as standard equipment, and people report fewer creaks, squeaks, and rattles.

I'd hold off for the 4th gen release to get the best deal on a 3rd (or 2nd) gen Prius. That might be 5 months away.

Why the seat-heater requirement in SoCal? Those frigid 70 degree mornings?
