For ten years I was an aircraft technician in General Aviation. Had(have) my Inspection Authorization (IA) and signed off Pipers, Cessnas, Beechcrafts, and Mooneys...and anything else that rolled through the hangar doors! Heard too many horror stories of A&P's getting shafted through litigation, and decided to do something that's hopefully a little less prone to being sued for.
Now I work here;
Technical Services : Engineering Power & Performance
I took the technical writer's job.
(the site hasn't been updated yet..)
They call us engineers but I don't think more than half of us have any formal engineering schooling. We're a small can-do company that is just a blast to work for. I really enjoyed fixin' planes, but this is pretty cool, too.
I am very, very blessed, and thank my Lord for being able to support my family by doing something I really enjoy, and am passionate about.
Shouldn't this thread be a sticky?
