The up armored hmmwv weight is at the edge of what the suspension can handle.
That frame and running gear was never meant to carry around all that weight, all the time.
The hmmwv has to last until its replacement is made, which is slated for 2020 to 2025.
Which really means it will most likely be some time around 2030.
(some years back the hmmwv replacement was supposed to come out in 2014)
So no more long peace time road trips at least for the heavy armored ones.
