62 miles of rated range is for mixed driving. When temps are above 70 degrees, I usually see 80 miles of estimated range, and the Mitsu range estimator is very accurate (it is based on your most recent 15 miles of driving history). On the highway, the farthest regular destination for me is 58 miles, and it's no problem. Higher speeds do take a toll though. My worst case scenario is 45 miles at 65-70 mph in freezing conditions with heater use.
Remember that Mitsu built a capacity buffer "inside the turtle" in order to meet advertised range during the warranty period even after some capacity degradation. I've gone 8.5 miles 'on the turtle' with 0 miles flashing on the range computer. (That was during the Blink bankruptcy fiasco due to offline EVSE.) The LEAF does not hide any capacity from the driver, so what you see is all you get.

There is an Android app called Canion that I'd bring on a test drive which gives better battery health data than even the dealer can see.
