I stopped by the park today (I was in the area anyway) and checked out the parking and picnic areas. This shouldn't be any problem at all.
BTW, their "pay for parking" system requires you to be honest and have cash or check. There wasn't a human being collecting money.
I'm not sure if that means we can park for free or that you MUST have cash or check, but I suppose that's up to each individual.
