i tried 0w20 and 5w20 synthetic in my 90 civic hatchback and it lead to noticeable pinging/detonation at low rpms. maybe high rpms too but it was harder to hear. the oil does a LOT of the cooling for the top end in those motors. however, it may be different for other cars. just a little cautionary tale
