So coherently ugly is good? Not IMHO. Understand that I'm not claiming this to be a thing of beauty, but it is no worse than the average. By 'beak', I assume you mean the large black grille? Well, that's found on many cars these days. The headlights are apparently functional, and why should they be made larger than necessary to do the job. I agree the rear end is not great, particularly the wing/spoiler, but again. lots of other cars have them.
The front end has a nice downwards slope, unlike the '06 Mustang it was made from, which basically looks like a wall with lights. It also looks less massive ahead of the wheels, unlike the Mustang.
