I guess you are correct. I went back to the first picture. There is a break in the windshield header and a black cut-line visible just above the rear-view mirror. So the problem is no problem.

The top picture looks to me like a 30s roadster with the top down, so—faster backwards, anyone. The article describes the software used to lay out those curves. It combines interacting freehand sketching (with NURBS), subdivided polygons, 3D CAD and CNC instructions in one tool chain.
