I recall one commercial claiming a Formula One team gains a tiny fraction of a second per lap from two to four hours of hand-polishing the surface finish.

Which, when you consider these cars have nearly a thousand horsepower and the aerodynamics of a brick, means that your typical hundred horsepower car with a 0.29 Cd isn't going to see squat at realistic speeds.
