I briefly had a paper route with my Prelude, but after six weeks, another clutch went out, and I was fired, even though I immediately informed my supervisor that my car broke down, borrowed my mechanic's wife's bike and rode it several miles to pre-fold the Sunday paper, so that whoever covered for me had the least work possible.
My first Sunday, I fit 250 papers in my car. As I went to leave the parking lot, I heard grinding, stopped, and realized that the car was much higher than it was supposed to be. I was bottoming out on level ground! The first time that I turned, there was an avalanche, and I needed to throw papers back onto the passenger side. After that, I always made two trips, and had so many people complain that their papers were late, that I actually lost money. I probably lost money overall with that job.
