I was a bit shocked to see a 42mpg half tank when I filled up today...I had made a few trips into downtown SF, where traffic basically doesn't move and stop signs at the bottom of steep hills ensure you waste all the energy spent getting up the hill. I was also stuck in traffic on the freeway for over an hour this week.
I'm guessing it was just error, the pump doesn't stop at the same level every time. My previous tank only "got" 36mpg which was really low considering I did almost no city driving and was shutting the engine off diligently.
