Okay, so it is not like a Prius. That is good to know. It seems I should likely scrap the idea of hauling another battery in an Insight. I just thought it'd be cool to use some of my spare batteries. I have a lot of small, odd lithium ones, and the big 4kwh Leaf pack which drives a motorcycle.
Does anyone supplement the 12v battery power? I could do the same method with my smaller batteries to reduce engine load theoretically. I wouldn't go out and buy a battery just for this. I have them and can't really sell them, so I try to find a use for them. (they are ranging from 100-500watt hours or so)
