my old school 3 speed transmission in my chevy and the new 6 speed in my girlfriends jetta shifts back and forth with no issues.

the Chevy doesn't give a damn I can throw it from n-d-n-d over and over again super smooth with synthetic fluid.

a little Rev match over 40mph (minimum speed for 6th) is needed in the jetta or it will go from 5th to 6th as soon as you put it back in drive. a little blip of the throttle to 2k rpm and its very smooth right from neutral to 6th. or if you are very fast you can shift from neutral to automanual mode and upshift to 6th over 40mph

It is also a little rough from 5mph-11mph.
basically parking lot crawling but I think because the car has too much low end power it is rough just rolling around in drive with a tiny bit of throttle it launched forward and I don't like how it will go from 1-2-3 all under 10mph. less stress in neutral.
