I'm a fan of streamlining and streamlined cycles, but I think they may increase the risk of injury in the event of a crash.
The rider being partially enclosed increases the chances of being thrashed by the cycle during a crash instead of being tossed clear and tumbling solo.
Not sure if it contributed to Craig's injuries, but I've always though it could.
