I do my best for mpg's but on a recent trip back east...in THAT direction I took all back hig7hways to keep the speed down, and have fewer tailgaters, but the roads were of such poor quality, that I was beating up my car, and back east it seems like they never thought of bypasses around towns. Light after light right through the gut. (yes, they want you to stop and buy something) When I returned, I upped my speed 5-7 mph., and had smooth sailing which made my day better, and only cost 2-3 mpg's.
We all have to weigh the important variables!
