From what I've seen, odometers are much more accurate.
on the way in this morning, i remembered to try and test the accuracy of my odometer against the sign posts on the freeway. i was only able to get 2 miles in before my offramp, so its a really small sample size. but my odometer clicked over to 2 miles several hundred feet ahead of the marker. i need to get a larger sample size to determine more.

as far as the instrumentation, i think the vacuum gauge is going to have to be first on my list due to price.
