Unfortunately where he lives in the mountains the wildlife is abundant. When I visited his shop last year I realized this, so I decided against riding back at night.

On the return trip from Glacier last year I took Hwy 89 through the Sierras. I horned at every turn even though it was 2 lanes in each direction. I thought I was being excessive & didn't want to disturb the campers in the area until I saw 4 deer wait to one side at the edge of the road on a turn I about to make.

I just ordered 2 more deer whistles after reading about Craigs' misfortunes. I also never thought it was a GREAT idea to wear a 1/2 helmet.
Have a godspeed recovery Craig.
